Team Specialized runs with Magura

Specialized has announced that Magura will supply its entire World Cup team with hydraulic disc brakes. Team Specialized will contest all the 2006 UCI events, as well as selected other events.

Team riders will be equipped with custom red anodized Magura Marta SL hydraulic disc brakes, the lightest disc brake on the market today. The Marta SLs, with the sweet looking carbon fiber lever blade, weigh in at just 324 grams. This year, consumers will also have the option to run 180mm and 203mm rotors with Marta's adding even more power to their renowned braking performance.

Defending two-time UCI XC World Cup Champion, Christoph Sauser, won his championships on Marta SLs and is now elated to be running them as a new member of Team Specialized. Sauser commented, "I am fortunate that my new team sees the performance value of running the same brakes I have won two championships with. I know my championship defense will be made easier as a result." The other members of Team Specialized include Liam Killeen, Sabine Spitz and Team Captain Ned Overend.

In addition, Specialized USA will be equipping some of their top-of-the-line '07 models with Magura brakes, including the custom red anodized Marta SL. Enlow says, "We are honored that a company like Specialized has gained the confidence in Magura products to mount them on bikes ridden by their most demanding customers." Magura continues to innovate hydraulic disc brake technology and offers a complete line of brakes for every riding style.

Based in Bad Urach, Germany, Magura has been a leader in hydraulics engineering and technology for over 100 years. Magura innovations have included the first ever hydraulic mountain bike brake [1987] and the first "adjust-on-the-fly" motorcycle clutch lever for off-road racing legend Malcom Smith [1968]. Magura USA, located in Olney, IL, provides sales and technical support for North America. For more information on Magura products, including all new MTB suspension, visit www.magurausa.com
